For sale is an original 82 Jeep J10 Honcho / 4.2l (inline 6) / auto trans / 4wd. Truck will start but doesn’t stay running without a foot on the gas pedal….it hasn’t been tuned or adjusted for high altitude which is believed to be the problem.
I bought this truck in Brownsville Texas for $4,500 about 2 years ago (see last pic), have spent at least $2,500 on upgrades and mild restorations and drove it as my commuter when working for a buddy and living down there. I drove this classic truck regularly, and it always ran good, started on the first turn, and had no issues mechanically or electrically…but now does have a carburetor issue that’s come up since being in CO.
I had a buddy trailer it up here about 6 months ago with the hopes of continuing to use it as a spare truck and drive it around town. Recently even considered a throttle body fuel injection kit but my family needs have changed, so unfortunately I need to sell it asap.
The body has a few areas of imperfections and shows some dings from before the paint job was done, currently it looks pretty good up close and really good from a little further back :).
Newer windshield, newer tires, custom wheels along with other replaced parts and pieces. The interior has the original OE honcho bucket seats with the driver seat showing some wear. The whole Jeep is in intact (minus the interior door skins).
There are a couple areas of rust in the floor board all smaller in size with the main issue behind the driver seat. In my opinion it is not terrible and a non issue if the truck stays out of the elements..which by the way since I’ve owned it, has always been garaged or under covered parking. It currently is protected and parked in a carport.
This truck has intact and working heat and AC (doesn’t blow very cold tho). Have clean/clear TX title.
No trades…unless you have an 06 or newer diesel and want to trade strait up 🙂
Jeep Honcho, Mucho Macho.
Call or text me with any questions or if you want to come take a look. And just FYI unless you can somehow fix the carb onsite, please assume it will have to be trailered away….For the right deal, I do have AAA and could get it towed on my dime to your choice of place within town.
Thanks for looking!
