Beryl Green 1991 SAAB 900 SPG Offered For Sale
1991 SAAB 900 SPG for sale. 159,000 miles, turbocharged engine with 5 speed manual transmission. Only 254 of these SPG or “Special Performance Group” models were imported to the US in 1991 and only 109 in Beryl Green. This is the last year of the SPG, with Beryl Green being the best and rarest of all the models. SPG models came with special exterior side skirts, wheels, more horsepower, different color interior, performance dampers and lowered suspension–this is not a normal Saab 900. I purchased this car in Maine and drove it across the country, which attests for its dependability. No engine lights in the dash remain illuminated upon start-up. Interior is pretty clean; seats are in good shape but the headliner is sagging. Original Clarion radio still works very well, most of these cars do not still have it installed. Power antenna goes fully up and down and has been recently lubricated. Equalizer still works as well. Dash has a few cracks and horn buttons are still intact. Heated seats work well. Exterior body has some rust bubbling under the paint on the rear hatch and some dings there as well. The rest of the body is overall pretty clean. There are a few longer scratches on the hood and one on the driver’s door. My guess is that the car was resprayed around 5-10 years ago because the paint shines very well and doesn’t look dull. I did a full detail on the paint in the spring, including clay bar, polish, wax, and seal. Water beads up and rolls right off the body. Hella fog lights installed work, along with all other lights and electrical components. Upgraded Super Aero wheels are installed in place of SPG ones. Tires need to be rotated, two have more wear than the others. Work since I’ve owned the car includes oil changes, alternator and belts, water pump, intake manifold gasket, radiator fan, fuel rail washers, headlight relay, horn buttons, battery, sunroof and window block switches replaced. Cruise control works well. Emergency brake does too. There is a slight vibration upon acceleration and rear main seal oil leak which leaves a few drops when parked. Transmission shifts well and does not pop out of gear. Suspension feels pretty good overall, has some creaks when going over bumps. It sticks well going around on ramp curves. Dash reads 159,000 miles but car has a strong engine from a 93′ convertible with 135,000 miles. Work was done by the previous owner who was a SAAB mechanic for many years. Car has minimal underbody rust for a northern kept 900, the spot that commonly rusts out has been rust proofed and coated. I have records from previous owners in Maine, along with original owners’ manual.

If you know Saabs, you know how special the SPG is. If you don’t, then check out the link below. These cars are disappearing even more so after 25 years. Asking $6,200—Thanks for reading this ad!
