1963 Chevrolet Corvette Coupe (Cory Pick)

This 1963 Chevrolet Corvette Coupe is a piece of American Automotive history, and one of the most influential cars ever built. At the time, ”sports car” in the United States meant a nice little cruiser. The Corvette launched its 2nd generation with the birth of the Stingray with a complete redesign barely resembling its predecessors. The Stingray was lighter, had independent suspension, and was aerodynamically tested. The only American cars that could produce similar speed were large, heavy Super Stock optioned Mopars and Super Duty Pontiacs. The United States had produced a true all-around sports car. 1963 Corvette Coupes are affectionately nicknamed ”Split Windows” after the divided rear window that was eye-catching but also controversial. GM Head Designer Bill Mitchell fought Corvette Chief Engineer Zora Arkus-Duntov for the inclusion of the feature. After the 1963 model year, the GM executives sided with Duntov and the Split Window was just a one-year happening. The distinction of this rare look, and the birth of the stingray causes Split Windows to be one of the most highly sought after American collector cars.

GR Auto Gallery is pleased to present this highly original and well documented example of the 1963 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray Coupe for your consideration. With the meticulously kept notes from previous owners, Bloomington Gold certification offered with this model and plenty of receipts of its more recent work, this is a true survivor that has had the fortune of staying unmolested and kept true to its original form! Featuring the 327/300 HP V8 engine mated to its Powerglide transmission, this vehicle drives as well as it looks with its power steering and posi-traction. With its Sebring Silver exterior and classic wheels, the sharp styling and split-window design is emphasized with its excellent color choice which stands tall considering it’s believed to never have been fully repainted. Inside this model the black vinyl is in excellent condition considering its originality and with only one patched tear in the passenger seat to be found, the dash is original as well with no clear signs of deterioration, the tinted windshield from the factory looks great, a signal-seeking AM radio still present and functioning and the gauges all seem to be functioning well for its next owner. Power windows add to the comfort and ease of driving and not enough can be said for the original state this vehicle sits in today.

The All American Garage

::cck::971

What makes America so great? Theater, excess, freedom. It can be argued that America isn’t the “greatest” country but you cannot say it isn’t the most entertaining. Sure, Japan has it’s messed up marketing and England has a royal family of Corgi’s but America has the Avengers and Donald Trump.

We build giant utilitarian pickup trucks, sell ridiculous lift kits to make them unusable, then market them as a status symbol. We make pizzas that could feed a village, eat until our bodies slip into a coma, then throw the rest away. While other countries may focus on making the most fuel efficient engines, we put a 707hp engine in a sedan for fun then sold them to the general public.

Under the Star-Spangled Banner you have the freedom to do whatever. If you have the money you can be as smart or stupid as you want. You can fund a homeless shelter to help people to get back on their feet or you can spend $227,000 on some sweaty leather outfit Chris Evans wore in Captain America: The First Avenger, or both.

Burbbble wanted to celebrate our country’s theater, excess and freedom with an All-American garage game where we limit your freedom with a strict set of rules.

Rules: Garage must include a truck, a modern car (2013-2016) and a pre 1975 car. They must all be made by an American company.

Budget is $227,000, the cost of Chris Evan’s almost Star-Less costume at auction.

Cars must have asking or sold prices equal or lesser than $227,000

****11/24/2015 – IT HAS BEEN BROUGHT TO MY ATTENTION THAT THE VALUE OF THESE CORVETTES HAS BEEN STEADILY INCREASING. CHECK OUT HEMMINGS MOTOR NEWS OR SIMILAR CLASSIFIED SITES.***

MY SELLING PRICE IS REMAINING THE SAME.

This is not a business. I’m a car guy. The time has come for me to sell this Vette and enjoy some other type of car.

—————————–

1971 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray Coupe 350 / 4speed $24,900

350 C.I. 4 Speed. – 107,400 original miles. – Bridgehampton Blue Exterior/ Black Interior – Numbers matching car.

This Corvette is a very clean great running car. In the last year I have done over $4000 worth of restoration and repairs to the car. As you can see from the photos the car looks great and I get tons of attention everywhere I go. The car is a 10ft car and NOT a show car. Please keep in mind that the car is 44 years old. There are areas of the paint that are beginning to bubble and crack, t-tops need a bit of repair but overall the car looks great. The car was repainted back in the early 1980’s to Bridgehampton Blue from its original Steel Cities Grey color.

The car is a regular visitor to Cars & Coffee events around Orange County and Donut Derelicts in HB on Saturday mornings. The car was also part of the Petrolicious (www.petrolicious.com) “Drive Tastefully” rally back in June 2015.

The car runs very smoothly, shifts perfectly in all gears and is a blast to drive. I have detailed comprehensive repair receipts that go back to the 1970’s along with original marketing brochure, owner’s manual, warranty card and Protect-o-Plate.

Car needs an A/C compressor to be reinstalled. I have all the hard to find mounting brackets.

Serious inquires only. Don’t waste your time low balling. I will not respond to you. I don’t need to sell it, I just want to sell it. Bring your reasonable offers. Would consider a trade for late 60’s / early 70’s Alfa Romeo GTV or GT Junior or a Porsche 911 from the late 70’s / early 80’s.

This is a good honest unmolested Corvette that came from the factory with 3 out of the 4 options offered (no power windows), if repainted back to Steel Cities Grey and with and a few minor odds and ends done can be a $40,000 + car. Their are a lot of shitty ones out there. This is not one of them.
